Katalyst Kennels strives to produce healthy, highly-motivated Labrador Retrievers for use in police detection, search and rescue, and performance sports. Our goal is to breed dogs that live to work, and have the genetics to ensure a long, healthy working career. We produce 1-2 litters per year, and place the majority into working homes. Katelyn Graham (Barber), Owner of Katalyst Kennels, has been involved in the canine industry for over 10 years, starting with a rescued foxhound mix that had a passion for agility and making people laugh. Through the years, she has competed in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, tracking, and hunt tests. Her true passion lies in training detector and tracking dogs, and she especially enjoys creating a solid foundation for young dogs in those areas. She graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Cobleskill with a bachelor's degree in canine sciences and went on to work with the breeding program at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. As the canine sciences program at SUNY Cobleskill began to grow, Katelyn was asked to come back to the college as an instructor.   In 2016, Kate came back to Connecticut, where she continues to strive to produce workable, healthy dogs for law enforcement and search and rescue.

Katelyn is an active Associate Member of the North American Police Work Dog Association, International Police Work Dog Association, and various sport dog clubs, and holds her CPDT-KA credentials through the CCPDT.
